LA FONTE MUSICA

Michele Pasotti

Absolute mastery of all aspects of these répertoires. These Italians, fond of Trecento... Michele Pasotti's exhilarating energy is no stranger to it: lively tempos, pointillist ornamentations, the Italian collective masters the formidable complexity of the subtle pieces.

MICHELE PASOTTI

From the very beginning of his musical life, Michele Pasotti has played and listened to a wide variety of music. He obtained his lute diploma under Massimo Lonardi and specialised following seminars with Hopkinson Smith and Paul O'Dette. At the Civica Scuola di Musica in Milan, he went on to specialise in Renaissance theory and counterpoint, and furthered his study of medieval music in both Milan and Barcelona (ESMUC). At the University of Rome "Tor Vergata", he took the Ars Nova specialisation course in Europe, where he graduated with honours. He also graduated with honours in theoretical philosophy with a thesis on Martin Heidegger.
From 2013 to 2018, Michele Pasotti taught an Ars Nova course at the Civica Scuola di Musica in Milan. He often gives intensive seminars on medieval music and the lute at specialist institutes, conservatoires, schools and festivals.
