In addition to his obvious vocal talent, with a voice consistent on the entire range, Adrien Fournaison captivates audiences with his noble phrasing and rich colours, which have already earned him prestigious invitations and established him as one of the artists to watch among the new generation.

While studying at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris (graduating with unanimous honours and the congratulations of the jury), Adrien became a member of the Atelier Lyrique Opera Fuoco in 2018, then of the Académie Jaroussky in 2019 and the Académie Orsay-Royaumont in 2022. In addition to Philippe Jaroussky, he has studied with Karine Deshayes, Stéphane Degout and Dame Felicity Lott.

His engagements are rapidly multiplying: the role of Guglielmo in an adaptation of Mozart's Così fan tutte with the Orchestre du Palais Royal; Ariodate in Händel's Serse with Opera Fuoco (David Stern). In 2019, he took part in the La Maestra conducting competition, singing the role of the Speaker in Mozart's The Magic Flute, conducted by Claire Gibault. His musical curiosity also led him to tackle Isabelle Aboulker's L'Homme qui titubait dans la guerre, Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle conducted by Guillaume Connesson, the Coronation Mass with the Orchestre Colonne and numerous performances in Mozart’s Requiem. At the Auditorium de la Seine Musicale, Adrien sang Carl Orff's Carmina Burana.

2022 sees his debut at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Curio in Händel's Giulio Cesare (Philippe Jaroussky, Damiano Michieletto), a production revived at the Montpellier Opera. In 2023, he returns to the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées with Charpentier's Médée conducted by Hervé Niquet (Alpha Classics recording), followed by the role of Gondebaud in Massenet's Grisélidis conducted by Jean-Marie Zeitouni (Palazetto Bru Zane CD). He has been invited to the Opéra de Versailles by Les Ambassadeurs to sing in Mondoville's Le Carnaval du Parnasse (recorded by Château de Versailles Spectacles).

The last two seasons have confirmed his rise to fame: debut at the Theater an der Wien in Mayr's L'Amor coniugale with David Stern and Opera Fuoco; role of Angelotti in Puccini's Tosca with Les Frivolités Parisiennes in Compiègne, Reims, Nîmes, Tourcoing, Charleroi and Saint-Céré; Destouches' Télémaque et Calypso with Les Ombres at the Ambronay Festival and the Opéra Royal de Versailles; Une petite Flûte enchantée (Papageno) with Les Siècles, directed by Julie Depardieu, again at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and then at the Opéra de Bordeaux; Atys by Lully with Alexis Kossenko (Opéra d'Avignon, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Théâtre de Tourcoing).
Special mention should be made of a major role as Leporello in Mozart's Don Giovanni (Arcal production with Julien Chauvin, Le Concert de la Loge and Jean-Yves Ruf) at the Théâtre de l'Athénée in Paris; the revival of Giulio Cesare (Damiano Michieletto) with Christophe Rousset and Les Talens Lyriques at the Théâtre du Capitole. Collaborations with Correspondances, Cappella Mediterranea and the Cannes Orchestra have enabled him to sing in Ambronay, Geneva and Cologne.

The 2025/2026 season will allow him to further develop the role of Leporello with Julien Chauvin and Le Concert de la Loge throughout France, as well as that of Papageno in Une petite flûte at the Lausanne Opera. He will take part in the revival of Delibes' opera Jean de Nivelle at the Müpa in Budapest with the Hungarian National Orchestra conducted by György Vashegyi (Palazetto Bru Zane recording), not to mention Lully's Cadmus et Hermione in concert and on disc with Les Talens Lyriques and Christophe Rousset. With the same ensemble, he will be Publio in Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito. He will also sing Handel's Dixit Dominus in Paris with Thibault Noally and Les Accents.

Adrien has a particular fondness for Lieder, mélodies and oratorios. He won the prestigious Lied Prize at the Nadia and Lili Boulanger International Singing and Piano Competition alongside pianist Natallia Yeliseyeva, with whom he forms a duo. He was also selected for the Orsay-Royaumont Academy of Lieder and Mélodies. Adrien gives regular recitals, including several appearances at the Salle Cortot in 2020 at the invitation of the Paris Chamber Music Centre. In 2021, he won the Contemporary Melody Prize at the Toulouse French Melody Competition with pianist Matvey Zheleznyakov.

Adrien Fournaison has been named Talents Adami Classique 2024 and has just been selected as a winner of Génération Opéra 2025-2026.
