Victor SICARD
Baryton

The young baritone Victor Sicard, born in La Rochelle in 1987, seems to have everything for himself. He has captured international attention since his participation in William Christie's sixth Jardin des Voix, which led him to do an international tour with the Arts Florissants Orchestra.
He has had the opportunity to work with the best international ensembles, first by continuing his collaboration with Les Arts Florissants and William Christie but also with Le Concert d'Astrée and Emmanuelle Haïm, Le Concert Spirituel and Hervé Niquet, the Ensemble Aedes and Mathieu Romano, Le Poème Harmonique and Vincent Dumestre and Matheus Ensemble with Jean Christophe Spinosi.
His operatic repertoire includes the roles of Adario in Les Indes Galantes (Rameau) in Washington and New York, Tisiphone in Amour et Psyché (Mondonville) at the Operas of Dijon, Lille, Luxembourg and Caen, Apollon in La descente d’Orphée aux enfers (Charpentier), Yamadori in Madame Butterfly (Puccini) at the Operas of Limoges and Rouen, Dr Falke in Die Fledermaus at the Staatstheater Linz (Austria), Aeneas in Dido and Aeneas with Les Arts Florissants, Clock and Cat in L’Enfant et les sortilèges for Glyndebourne Opera Festival, Enfant fantôme in Coraline (Turnage) in the Operas of Lille, Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Britten) at the Barbican,…
His baritone soloist oratorio repertoire includes Mozart’s Requiem at the Royal Albert Hall, Handel’s Dixit Dominus and Bach’s Magnificat for an international tour with the Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt and Le Concert d’Astrée, St John’s Passion (Jesus), St Matthew’s Passion Requiem of Bach, Requiem by Fauré at Saint Martin in the Fields, La Petite Messe solennelle by Rossini at the Operas of Caen and Massy, Requiem by Duruflé at St Albans Cathedral, Carmina Burana by Orff and Belshazzar’s feast by Walton for the Worthing Philharmonic Orchestra, Ein Deutsches Requiem by Brahms, Requiem by Fauré, Vivaldi’s Dixit Dominus, Theresa Mass by Haydn and the Mass in E flat Major by Schubert with the Orchestra of the West of France.
The last seasons have brought Victor Sicard's formidable musical palette: Jealousie ans Nemesis in Campra's Idoménée with Emmanuelle Haïm and Alex Ollé/La fura dels Baus (Lille Opera and Berlin Staatsoper); Orlando in Il Palazzo Incantato by Rossi with Leonardo GarcÃa Alarcón and Fabrice Murgia (Dijon and Nancy Operas and Royal Opera of Verssailes, debuts also at the Capitole Theatre of Toulouse in Carmen, as well as Jenufa by Janáček at the Rouen Opera.
For the 2022-2023 season, Victor Sicard will perform the role of Saint Peter in a creation by Leonardo GarcÃa Alarcón entitled La Passione di Gesù with Cappella Mediterranea (Ambronay Festival and Geneva Victoria Hall); the role of Genere umano in Il dono della vita eterna by Draghi again under the direction of Leonardo GarcÃa Alarcón for a tour in the Netherlands and then in France (Royal Chapel of Versailles, Dijon Opera, etc.); He will also perform Claude in Hahn's O my beautiful stranger with Orchestra Les Frivolités Parisiennes (Tours Opera and Paris Théâtre Athénée); the Bonze in Le Rossignol by Stravinsky with Les Siècles conducted by François-Xavier Roth and in a production by Olivier Py at Théâtre des Champs-Élysées of Paris. He will sing also in concerts in Jerusalem, alongside the Israel Philharmonic.
Victor Sicard has recently recorded a CD dedicated to Ravel's melodies with pianist Anna Cardona which has been released in Spring 2020.
